Why Kanopi Consulting?

Sharon Smith, an accomplished strategist and advocate with over 20 years of experience in the environmental sector, is the founder of Kanopi Consulting.  Throughout her career, she has worked extensively with major global corporations to forge and fulfill landmark sustainability initiatives.  Sharon has used her expertise to spearhead transformative efforts within agricultural commodity supply chains linked to tropical deforestation, working with NGOs and the private sector to drive change.  She collaborates with stakeholders along the entire value chain—from producers to corporate buyers—in order to integrate sustainability into their core practices.  

Sharon holds a Master of Environmental Management degree from the Yale School of the Environment and a Bachelor of Arts cum laude in Anthropology and Bachelor of Science with Honors in Conservation and Resource Studies from the University of California at Berkeley.
